Respect

It is earned.  The Veterans have done just that.

With our sweat, blood and tears.  But for what?  A country that takes it for granted?  A country that will not recognize!

They spit on us.  They deface our brother’s graves.  http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,276089,00.html  They rip and burn our Colors.  (Just to think that we tear up at the sound of the Anthem and Taps as She sways in the breeze – believe me when I say we are more than Upset to see Her in flames!)  We are beaten, murdered and gunned down in our own hometown.  They call us killers, murderers and even Terrorists; yet we continue to fight in their stead.  http://www.capveterans.com/national_veterans_memorials_protection/  We continue to fight for their alienable rights.  The same rights that they twist to tear us down.

We don’t ask for a Thank you in return, but damn we do not deserve this.  Where is our right to observe our brother’s Memorial day in peace without “Peace Rally’s” intervention?  Where is our right to walk down the street without being subject to names such as “Baby Killers” and “Murderers.”  Are we just walking targets for your urine, feces and saliva wads?

Either we are dedicated to God, Corps, Country, our Beautiful Wives, Apple Pie, a cold beer, a smoke and the American Way or we are plain stupid and Kerry was right.

Well I have news for you – One day you will realize that you do not bite the hand that feeds…

But until you taste the fear and live it and overcome it – you will never understand and you will never appreciate what the VET has accomplished and sacrificed.

But see, we do it so you do not have to…

I just wanted to extend my gratitude to each and every member of the US Armed Forces as we remember this Memorial Day.  It is because of you that we are able to continue living each day as we do now.  Thank you for your daily sacrifice.  “Each day it takes 1,389,958 men and women to raise the flag…”

To those who have given their lives for me and my family…  Thank you; you will never be forgotten.

The Soldier

They shall not die, so long as we remember they lived…

The Flag’s been folded and passed to his wife,
All that is left, of a soldier’s life.
The casket is lowered, and a prayer is said.
But wait a minute, he can’t be dead.
He’s much too young, to be lying here,
He goes to college, in one more year.

We knew this soldier; he was our friend,
He defended us, through thick and thin.
We trusted him, in moments of strife,
He honored that trust and gave his life.
At least he gave up, this mortal clay,
But his spirit lives on, from day to day.

He lives in our minds, and in our hearts,
And though we miss him, though we are apart,
The ties that bind, will not be shattered,
If we always remember, how his life mattered.
He loved his country, so proudly he served,
He was sometimes scared, but never unnerved.

He fought our battles, far across the sea,
And kept us safe, in this land of the free.
So keep the vigil, in this home of the brave,
And remember the life, he so gallantly gave.
He loved the Flag, the Red, White, and Blue,
Keep it flying high, It’s your flag too.

When the trumpets sound, with the final call,
When Taps is played, for one and all,
When peace shall reign, and we all give thanks,
When there’s no more guns, no shooting tanks,
When we come to the day, when we shall meet
And see him again, on that golden street.

“655,000 Who are the terrorists?” – Rosie

I really do not know what to say.  I am outraged!  Does Rosie really believe that we Americans are terrorists?  This miss-guided (putting it very mildly) lady has just confirmed to the world yet again, that she is the President of the Funny Farm.

This just gives me a headache.  I really do not know where to begin.  As a matter of fact this bitch is not even worth getting all pissed off over.

Just remember Rosie, Do not bite the hand that feeds.

April 7th, 2003, Baghdad:

I keep looking back, trying to remember what went wrong that day.  I read the story they printed in the Times http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1004681,00.html  (TIME, April 21, 2003 issue, page 56) nearly every day.  I am sorry.

Semper Fidelis, Brothers.  I will never forget either of you.
